So I was wandering around the gloriously empty maps from the old FHT v0.8 mod maps when I thought to myself "Would it not be great to play these again?" So I plan to host a server featuring these maps sometime this month The would be as follows:

- Dutch Resistance (1941)

- Battle of Kohmia (1944)

- Battle over Mougang (1944)

- Bukit Timah (1942)

- Capture of Ortona (1943)

- Conflict in Timor (1942

- Conquest of Java (1942)

- Fall of Singapore (1942)

- Juno Beach (1944)

- Liberation of Strasbourg (1945)

- Operation Dracula (1945)

- Operation Thursday (1944)

- Operation Torch (1942)

- Pasir Pajang (1942)

- Siege of Zeeland (1940)

- Sittang Bridge (1942)

- Storm of Steel (1943)

This mod features several never-before visited locales such as the Dutch East Indies and Morocco, and features two new armies: the Dutch and Vichy French.

I don't want to run this during FHSW time smile so it would not happen on a Saturday or Sunday evening (which is afternoon for me, btw). I'll start having breaks from classes later this month, so I would have more time. Probably on a Friday I will put the server up. Who would be interested in playing?

Aren't FHT maps really huge? Doesn't make much sense to play 5v5 on them imo. But I'll take a look on them maybe there's a good one for FHSW since the devs are allowed to use Forgotten Honor stuff iirc. And it looks like they already took some (Sittang Bridge, Thursday etc.)

Dutch Resistance and Singapore are pretty small. After posting this thread I did notice that we have already played Thursday and Sittang. I've heard that Juno Beach was on the FHSW server at one as well. Why can't all the maps be there?

Like eye said the maps are way too big. I personally fought on those maps during those tournaments long ago. The distance between maps is way too big, and its just not good for 10 on 10 let alone 5 on 5.

those maps need atleast 30 people to be somewhat decent.

What I meant was if it would it be possible for the maps to be added to the FHSW mod. Now I don't know the developers are doing, so it's just a suggestion. (But would be preeetty nice)
 
If this were to happen, we typically get 30 players every weekend these months, so there wouldn't be much of a problem with size.
 
I didn't think about the map sizes when starting this thread. The independent server wouldn't be a good idea.

See you're kinda missing the point, the fhsw maps were designed for any player count. However, these FHT maps were specifically designed for big game play with 2 massive teams going at it.
 It would be nice to see them into the fhsw mod, but it won't happen. a lot of them are bugged and again just too big for player counts.

getting 30 players does not happen every single weekend. these past 2 weekends have been good, but it is not the case that they are always like that.

Ahh, I see your point now. I haven't been here long enough to know everything about the server

Its not a bad idea, but like I said, low numbers kill those maps. We do play them occasionally as they are good maps  happy
