Current development policy of FHSW is like "less stress, more entertainment" rather than "realistic at all costs".

Thumbs up!

My "Did You Know"

Did you know that there is a route hidden in the jungle at the north side of the map Operation Coronet? It goes from the U.S. Headquartes through the jungle and come out at the west of the AA-Battery flag. More from this equivalent roads exist!

• Forward and backward speed of electric driven tanks are the same and the torque is much greater when compared to usual tanks. This gives a great advantage when climbing steep hills.

• Some of the guns allow to switch between 3 kinds of ammunition. Keys needed for this action are shown on the vehicle's icon, on the lower left area of the screen. Sometimes they are W, S keys and sometimes arrows. Example for AT/HE/SHRAPNEL - to use AT press and HOLD a W key when shooting, for HE press W once, for SHRAPNEL press S once.

• Panther Ausf. D and A have a specific extruded overhanging parts in their hull, that are fuel tank. The probability of instant death is very high if they get penetrated.

• The mushroom explosion effect that is used when Ratte gets destroyed comes from regular FH. It is named "e_ExplNuke".

• Original title of FH menu background music is named "Entering Battle" and was composed by Rantam. The loading music is "Entering Battle reprise".

• When your airplane gets out of control after going above the 9th level of altimeter scale, cut off the engine, use rudder to make the airplane spin in opposite direction and wait patiently until your bird catches the wings lift again.

• A very first seed that grew up as the FHSW mod, was a map created a one year before FHSW v0.1, called midway_d. It featured a naval battle engaging pseudo Graf Zeppelin carrier converted from Shokaku, Boulton Paul Defiant imitating the Blackburn Roc aircraft etc.

• A caution is needed when driving gas turbine powered tanks like Panther GT101. Insufficient amount of torque this tank offers at low engine RPM, doesn't allow you to gain the satisfying turning rate when standing in place. Once you move ahead, so that engine RPM raises, it will make fair turns.

• Since an anti-tank infantry weapons like Panzerschreck, Panzerfaust or Bazooka can't kill an enemy soldier at one shot except a direct hit, it is not the best manner to use it for killing infantry, except emergency case. Only special variants of Panzerfausts like Flammfaust are good for this job.

• You can still shake off an enemy fighter airplane even if you've got a plane with worse maneuverability capatibilities and lower rate of fire. A secret of long lasting flights and successful missions with single airplane is the altitude. Try to go and stay above your opponent.

• If you stumble upon active enemy bombing request radio box, you may kill it with knife. Usually it's better to stay silenced at enemy's rear especially that explosives do not really make a damage to mentioned radio.

• Combination of sloped armor feature and "armor angling" tactic, raises the front armour strength of Maus to 800mm. On the other hand a projectile that hits this at right angle has to get through the 200mm of steel "only".

I wonder if anyone of us has seen this map, I first discovered FHSW with v0.4.

By pure luck I found out that you can destroy the Piper with a knife if you hit the engine. But that's probably a bug. happy

If you find the time can you please collect all tips in the OP? smile

Pressing the backwards buttons while in an open gunner position (e.g., a Sherman M4) will make your character duck down inside the tank. Very useful for when you're not sure if there's enemies that are gonna shoot you.

Yes, but you can neither see nor aim at anything close to the horizon. It's mostly useful when there are targets that are high. Otherwise, better get into some internal position to be safe.
