|Loading a map in FHSW can take several minutes. |
However on most maps, the loading bar will be filled in a couple of seconds, despite the loading not being completed.
A very simple tutorial can be found here, I hope FHSW dev will read this.
- Step 1 : Extract your map using WinRFA and then in the root directory of your map you will find a file by the name of: "loadcounter.DAT" file as highlighted in this picture. Delete that file.
- Step 2 : Pack your map back up. Load your Battlefield 1942, and load your map in Conquest Mode. Once you have started loading your map you will see the Loading Bar going nuts, it will flicker from 0% to 100% a number of times, once you are in the game and your map has finished loading quit back to windows.
- Step 3 : In the root directory of your Battlefield 1942 game (where you installed your game) you will fine a folder called "bf1942" as shown here. In the following directory you find your new "loadcounter.DAT" file. Now take your newly created "loadcounter.DAT" file and paste it in to the root directory of your map and pack your map up again using WinRFA and.....that's it you are ready to test your map, see how simple that was.
No more Arnhem loading bar filled in two seconds if you do this

|Sounds interesting. |
I will check that out some time.
Also very interesting if making a FHSW map: Creating the Animations folder to reduce loading time by writing which handweapon animations should be loaded and which not.
