That rule is not precised sufficently, you are right thefhswofasia333
Nevertheless, notorious base camping is taken into account as a violation against the fairplay.

One more!
When I play the PrinceUmeboshi server, I played the map 'Tarawa'.
Then, I noticed that my team (Japan) is losing so I quickly changed team.
Then, I got an instant kick (This happens like more than 2 years ago).
Since that I never changed my original team.
But is it still like that? If yes, then I recommend to give a warning first for
the newbies. Because I'm afraid they wasted their time loading just to get kicked
without knowing the reason.

On Prince Umeboshi server it is forbidden to change the team entirely due to fair balancing.

Quote thefhswofasia333 ()
Even the europe one?

Only if you obviously use it to scam the other team (finding out where their submarines, snipers, etc hide).

Hey, what if we have a rule like this:

"Pilots who are parachuting and landed in enemy territory shall not be killed IF he doesn't show any threat to the team.
Shooting the pilot is a war crime under Protocol I (in real life). Airborne troops and commandos are not protected by this rule/law.

We have an unwritten rule in this community not to bail from planes. It's like an honour system. Anyone who does bail deserves to be killed...in game.

If you bail with a paracute, there is no problem with it. Still, you can be killed after you have landed. Also, as a pilot, you can kill other players cause you have a knife and a pistole. And you can use other kits with submachine guns, flamethrowers, etc. so such a rule would be nonsense.

This is a gaming community. People come here to relax. If you start an argument you will get kicked.

Quid pro quo.

So, what if he decides not to fight back and escape the base without harming anyone?
(Just like SimoHayha and Karsakov's case)

Battlefield 1942 isn't made for this type of gameplay, everything goes too quick and there's no in-game communication.

Also as an admin it's impossible to monitor this and more important to look out for really disruptive players.

In this game it is assumed that anyone from the opposing team is a threat, or a target. Instead of surrendering there is a "suicide" button.

If there ever is such a thing as a just war, then you are justified in killing anyone who is a threat or has shown the intention and potential
to be a threat in the future (e.g. fought you, but tried to escape and not surrender). That includes enemy parachutists over enemy controlled
territory.

I find it mildly amusing that governments have agreed to restrict their own rights and the rights of their subjects in war. I think it shows that governments view their citizens as pawns which are not allowed to take some justified actions which help them preserve their own lives. I also think that it shows that governments see war as some sort of a game where only their subjects fight, while the "leaders" are the game organizers, or governments were dishonest when signing the protocol, or governments are utterly stupid, or all of the above.

I agree it would be very stupid rule. Simply don't bail and go down with your plane and you won't have to worry about it. Marduk is right its a stupid idea since the pilot can fight back and does in most cases. It would be too hard to enforce us to tell you not to shoot back.

Just don't bail without para, or bail at all if its such a worry of yours.
I agree with crazy, starking please leave the politics out of this, this isn't the place for that.  smile

Well a simple 'yes' or 'no' would be fine actually. happy
No more than that. Whatever...... dry
FHSW has pretty strict rules for realism (I'm proud of that actually).

And it's pretty fun to see planes ramming each other like in War Thunder. I don't know if that's a big problem to the server or not.
But I also to do it. (If the plane is smoking already)

Don't ram enemy planes with your own, that is kamikaze in a sense too since you do die to get a kill. I know it happens sometimes, believe me I know lmao
but don't do it on purpose

I think there should be a rule against swapping teams halfway through the round. It is bannable on umiboshi it should atleast be a kick here.

Wewak, could you give a firm reason why should such a rule be set up? The bare fact of enforcing it by Umeboshi doesn't tell anything.

Well I have noticed occasionally people switching teams in the middle of the round for no reason other than they want to, switching on the autobalance and then someone else gets switched and fucked off. There should atleast be a deterrent from people switching willy-nilly.

@wewak: I understand your issue and I have also thought about setting up a rule. But on the other hand too many rules are not good either. Also, about 90% or more of the players stay in the team they joined at the beginning and win-team-joiners e.g. are not a big problem really. Just annoying sometimes biggrin
